Lost Landscapes. Trinitat Nova/Trinitat Vella. The Peripheries and Their Heritage

A walk between the two neighbourhoods of La Trinitat, visiting their historical heritage and emblematic sites of the local collective memory.

The visit will begin at Parc de la Trinitat —Olympic Heritage—, where we will briefly review its evolution and the neighbourhood struggles associated with it. It will continue to the Trinitat prison, part of whose façade building will soon be declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest and will house the facility dedicated to historical memory, where Francoist repression and gender struggle will take centre stage. The next stop will be the Casa de l’Aigua de Trinitat Vella, where we will be able to visit its interior —the reception and exterior water inlet area and the pumping room—. We will then continue through the tunnel beneath Avinguda Meridiana, following the pipes that carry the water to the Casa de l’Aigua de Trinitat Nova, where the chlorination tanks and subsequent distribution to the city’s networks are located. The third and final stop will be the Pont de Sarajevo, a link between the two neighbourhoods and a demand for a thousand-square-metre slab that would give the Trinitats a shared space to enjoy.
