RehaBCN. Vallirana 47

RehaBCN is a non-conventional exhibition proposal focused on distinctive housing refurbishment in Barcelona.

Guided tour of a residential renovation designed by Pere Buil, member of the studio VORA Arquitectura. The architect himself, together with the programme curator, will lead the visits and present the key aspects of the intervention.

Vallirana 47 is a 1923 party-wall building, discreet and seemingly anonymous, whose value lies in its continuity with a specific historical period. It retained a traditional corridor layout with small rooms and original features such as hydraulic tiles, mouldings, and woodwork.

The intervention embraces a hybridisation between new and existing elements, combining a respectful yet playful approach. A new spatial order is superimposed onto the original through shifts and frictions, revealing the layers of time.

Reused materials coexist with new additions—glazed tiles, patterns, and textures—that reinforce the building’s material continuity. The result is a series of dense and expressive spaces, far from neutrality, offering comfort and identity from the very first moment.

A total of 6 visit slots are scheduled, each lasting 20 minutes and accommodating 10 people. Participants are kindly asked to arrive 10 minutes in advance for an introduction and the distribution of informational materials. Waiting will take place outside the building, located at C. Vallirana 47, Barcelona.
