RehaBCN. Baixada Santa Eulalia
RehaBCN is a non-conventional exhibition proposal focused on distinctive housing refurbishment in Barcelona.
Guided tour of a residential renovation designed by Diego Ruiz and Mònica Recoder, members of the studio llrrarq. The architects themselves, together with the programme curator, will lead the visits and present the key aspects of the intervention.
Intervention in a building located along the perimeter of Roman Barcelona, where the ancient wall runs through part of the structure. The project emerges from a dialogue between memory and the present, making visible historical traces and layers of time.
The intervention enhances the central courtyard as a shared space, restoring its original section to improve light, ventilation, and visual connections. Accesses are reorganised to ensure independence between dwellings.
Inside, non-structural partitions are removed and prefabricated elements are introduced as new layers superimposed onto the existing fabric. The project reveals the coexistence of old and new, making the passage of time visible.
A total of 6 visit slots are scheduled, each lasting 20 minutes and accommodating 10 people. Participants are kindly asked to arrive 10 minutes in advance for an introduction and the distribution of informational materials. Waiting will take place outside the building, located at C. Vallirana 47, Barcelona.
